“Anonymous, The Life and Times of a Warship”

  (2-hr. Feature Film)

Logline - These are the anonymous stories of the crew of the USS GARY, told over the 30-year life span of a decorated US Navy Warship.  These stories are told around the life of one of the original crewmembers that rises to the pinnacle of the navy.

“Anonymous, The Life and Times of a Warship” is a mix of a semi-fictional story peppered with true stories written in a never before presented style.  Our story begins with a 19-year-old sailor named John Gold reporting for duty to GARY in beautiful Long Beach, California.  In a ‘Forest Gump’ style, Gould progresses through 30 years of a storied naval career culminating with him rising to the top enlisted post in the service, 'Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy’. Coincidentally, his friend from GARY, Ensign Steve Thomas, rises to become Admiral Steve Thomas, the Chief of Naval Operations.  As Gold gets ready for retirement, Thomas sends him off to a final billet… Decommissioning the ship where they both started, USS GARY.

Anonymous is a fictional story based on a real person placed in many infamous places (Captain Philips, Somali Pirates, Bin Laden raid, etc.) with some creative liberties taken, and interspersed with true stories or ‘Sea Stories' from the actual crew who sailed her for 30 years.

There are approximately 22 million living US Military Veterans alive today.  This is a very large target market that this film will appeal to. Add in family members and a pro-military sentiment, and you have at least half of the population as potential viewers.  This is not a 'war story', it’s not a ‘military story’, it is a human story, a story about a man and a 453 foot ship that shaped his and thousands of other young men’s lives.

This film is based on the book of the same name.
